Before You Publish: A Business Listing Checklist for Pakistan

PakListings Editorial Team October 23, 2026 8 min read

A listing pays off only when a customer can verify who you are and reach you in under a minute. Most listings fail on the same five details — a vague name, a missing area, a dead number, a copied description, a blurry photo. This guide runs the whole job as a one-day sprint: gather in the morning, write at noon, submit by evening, and know exactly what happens next.

Hour zero: gather everything before you type a word

Open a notes app and collect the facts first, because stopping mid-form to hunt for a phone number is how mistakes happen. You need the business name exactly as it appears on the signboard, the category that fits best, the city and the area, the full street address, a phone number you actually answer, a WhatsApp number if it differs, opening hours for every day, and the website or social page if you have one.

Add the evidence while you are at it: three or four recent photos of the shop, the work or the team, and a logo if you have one. Photos taken on a phone in daylight beat a downloaded stock image every time — customers can tell the difference, and so can reviewers.

  • • Name, category, city, area, street address, phone, WhatsApp, hours, website.
  • • Three or four recent, real photos — daylight, your own premises, your own work.
  • • One decision made in advance: which tier fits — Basic, Premium or Featured.

Writing the description customers believe

A good description is specific enough that it could not belong to any other business in the category. Use the service names customers actually ask for, the area you serve, and one honest detail that proves you do the work — the brands you stock, the dishes you are known for, the years you have traded on that street. Skip the superlatives: “best”, “number one” and “cheapest” tell a customer nothing, and a directory full of them tells Google nothing either.

Keep the name, address and phone details identical to how they appear on your other important public profiles. Wherever you reasonably can, the listing should line up with your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page and your website — branches deserve separate listings, each with its own address and number.

  • • Specific beats grand: service names, area, one provable detail.
  • • No superlatives, no copied text, no claims you cannot support.
  • • Name, address and phone identical everywhere they appear.

The photos that sell the visit

Choose photos the way a customer chooses: the shopfront so they recognise it from the street, the inside so they know what to expect, the work itself so they can judge quality, and the team so they know who they will meet. Avoid filters, watermarks and screenshots of other websites — a listing is a promise, and the photo is part of it.

Check each photo on a phone before submitting. A picture that looks fine on a laptop can be unreadable on the small screen most customers use, and a sideways or cropped image reads as carelessness.

  • • Shopfront, interior, the work, the team — four photos cover most businesses.
  • • No filters, no watermarks, no screenshots of other sites.
  • • Check every photo on a phone before you submit.

The payment proof that gets approved first time

Listing on PakListings starts from PKR 99 one-time, and the payment proof is the step most people rush. Pay through one of the methods shown on the payment screen, take a screenshot that shows the amount, the date and the reference clearly, and check it is readable before you upload — a cropped, blurry or dark screenshot is the most common reason a proof is sent back.

If a proof is rejected, the reason appears on the listing in your dashboard and in your email. Read it, fix exactly that point, and use the “Upload New Proof” option for the same listing instead of starting over — a fresh, readable proof for the same listing is the fastest route back to approval.

Practical note: A listing is only as accurate as its weakest detail. One wrong digit in the phone number costs more customers than a missing photo ever will.
  • • Screenshot must show the amount, the date and the reference — clearly readable.
  • • Match the tier you chose: the proof amount should fit the tier.
  • • Rejected proof: read the reason, fix that point, upload a fresh proof for the same listing.

Five reasons listings get sent back

Reviewers send listings back for the same handful of reasons, and all of them are avoidable. A business name stuffed with keywords or a city name. A category that does not fit — restaurants belong in food categories, software houses in technology, clinics in healthcare. A description copied from another website. Contact details that do not answer or do not exist. And a payment proof that cannot be read.

Read the rejection reason in your dashboard carefully — it names the exact problem. Fix that point and resubmit; do not submit the same listing unchanged and hope for a different reviewer.

  • • Keyword-stuffed business name.
  • • Wrong category for the business.
  • • Copied description or unsupported claims.
  • • Contact details that do not work.
  • • Unreadable payment proof.

After you go live: the first week

An approved business listing goes live at the next weekly release, not the same hour — then it appears on its own page, in the businesses index, and on its category and city pages. Use the first week to check it the way a customer would: search your business name, open the page on a phone, tap the call button, and read the listing for mistakes.

Then keep it accurate. Prices change, hours change, numbers change — and a listing that goes stale misleads the customers it was built to win. A ten-minute check every month, and an edit request whenever something changes, is the whole maintenance plan.

  • • After approval: check the live page on a phone — call button, hours, address.
  • • Monthly: a ten-minute accuracy check — hours, prices, phone, photos.
  • • Details change: request the edit instead of letting the listing go stale.

How much does a listing cost? From PKR 99 one-time for Basic, with Premium at PKR 199 and Featured at PKR 299 — there is no monthly subscription and no commission on enquiries.

How long until my listing goes live? After approval it appears at the next weekly release, on its own page and on its category and city pages.

What if my payment proof is rejected? Read the reason in your dashboard, fix that point, and upload a fresh proof for the same listing with the “Upload New Proof” option.
