Business Directories in Pakistan: How to Find Local Businesses You Can Actually Trust

PakListings Editorial Team August 7, 2026 10 min read

Pakistan has no single dominant business directory. Instead, a handful of general directories, trade directories and newer local services share the search traffic — and the right one depends on what you are looking for. This guide compares the directories people actually use, what each one is good for, and how to judge any listing you find on them, including PakListings, which is new and small next to the incumbents.

The general directories: where most searches land

Among dedicated directories, BusinessList.pk is the largest by third-party traffic estimates — roughly 80,000 visits a month across the estimators that report it — with category pages, city pages and business detail pages. BusinessListing.pk follows at roughly 66,000 monthly visitors by one estimator, positioned explicitly as a phone directory: telephone number, address, map and driving directions per company. YPages.pk, the Yellow Pages of Pakistan, runs smaller at roughly 20,400 monthly visitors, skewed to services and professions such as clinics. BusinessDirectory.pk and Places.pk sit in the same general-directory family at roughly 16,000–17,000 monthly visitors each by the estimators that report them.

Treat every one of those numbers as a third-party estimate, not a measured fact: different tools disagree, sometimes by an order of magnitude, and they measure different things at different dates. What the pattern does show is that the general directories, not the niche ones, carry the “business directory Pakistan” and “yellow pages Pakistan” search demand.

  • • BusinessList.pk: the broadest general directory — start here for category + city searches.
  • • BusinessListing.pk: best when the phone number, address and map matter most.
  • • YPages.pk: strongest for services and professions, especially health-related categories.

Yellow pages and trade directories

Jamal’s Yellow Pages (yellowpages.com.pk) is the print-origin trade directory: industrial and commercial listings, buyers, importers, exporters and suppliers, with a very large indexed footprint but small current traffic — roughly 3,180 monthly visitors by one estimator. FindPK is the other long-standing “Yellow Pages of Pakistan”, covering companies, brands, industries, exporters and buyers. For pure B2B, PakBiz is the clearest trade directory, organised by product and sector — textile, leather, sports goods, surgical instruments, cement, basmati rice, handicrafts, chemicals and apparel — while the newer YellowPage.pk positions itself around verified suppliers and manufacturers, with an Islamabad and Rawalpindi-heavy showcase.

Use these when the query is a product or a supplier, not a neighbourhood shop. A textile exporter and a DHA restaurant need different directories, and the trade directories are built for the first.

  • • Jamal’s / FindPK: heritage yellow pages — trade and company lookup, not local discovery.
  • • PakBiz: product and sector suppliers, manufacturers, importers and exporters.
  • • YellowPage.pk: verified B2B suppliers, strongest around Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

City-first and trades-first directories

CitySearch.pk organises everything city-first: city directory pages, then city + category pages, then neighbourhood + category pages such as business services in Gulberg 2, Lahore. Rehbar.pk takes the opposite angle — its city pages are titled “Best Businesses in Lahore” and it covers 50+ cities with reviews, opening hours, phone numbers and addresses. The newer watchlist names matter here too: Nokta.pk puts address, phone, WhatsApp, landmark and rate list on every shop page, and CityKaam is trades-first — plumber, electrician, AC technician, tailor, beautician and 35+ work types, organised by city and then area.

When your query names an area or a trade, these are the directories that answer it best. A city-level page cannot tell you which electrician works in your mohalla; an area-level one can.

  • • CitySearch.pk: city + category, down to neighbourhood level.
  • • Rehbar.pk: “best in city” pages with reviews across 50+ cities.
  • • Nokta.pk and CityKaam: trades and shops, phone-first, area by area.

The portals: big traffic, small directory share

HamariWeb and UrduPoint dwarf every pure directory on raw traffic — HamariWeb at roughly 3 million visits a month and UrduPoint at roughly 59,000 daily visitors by third-party estimates — but those are whole-portal numbers. News, finance, prices, poetry and horoscopes dominate both portals; the business-directory section is a minority slice that no public estimator breaks out. HamariWeb’s directory strength is specific: PSX-listed company pages with share prices, addresses and contacts, plus a finance directory. UrduPoint’s is breadth: a business directory by city, category and specialisation for a Urdu-reading audience.

The lesson is simple: never quote a portal’s total traffic as its directory traffic. Judge a directory by its directory pages, not by the homepage of the portal that hosts it.

How to judge any listing you find

A directory is only as good as its listings, and the checks are the same on every platform. A trustworthy listing carries a genuine business name, a current address or service area, a phone number or website that answers, opening hours where they are known, a clear list of services, and reviews that come from real customer activity. Be wary of listings with keyword-stuffed names, no reachable contact, or reviews that all appeared on the same day.

For regulated or safety-critical work — doctors, lawyers, accountants, builders — confirm licences and qualifications with the responsible authority yourself. A directory helps you discover options; it does not endorse a provider, and its information is no substitute for expert advice.

  • • Keep name, address and phone identical everywhere they appear — mismatches are the first sign of a stale listing.
  • • Where the data exists, check when a listing was last updated or claimed.
  • • Keep verified business details visibly separate from unverified user-submitted information.

Where PakListings fits

PakListings is the newest name on this page: founded in 2026, covering 183 cities and 24 categories, with 43 seed business pages and owner listings added on one-time tiers — Basic PKR 99, Premium PKR 199, Featured PKR 299 — published in a weekly release once approved. It does not yet have the traffic or the listing depth of BusinessList.pk or Rehbar.pk, and this guide does not pretend otherwise.

Its use is specific: a Pakistan-wide directory where an owner can be found by city and category, with a phone-first profile and moderated reviews. Use it alongside the bigger directories, not instead of them — and judge it, like all of them, on the listings: are the details accurate, reachable and current?

Frequently asked questions

Which business directory is the biggest in Pakistan? Among dedicated directories, BusinessList.pk leads on third-party traffic estimates (around 80,000 visits a month). The portals HamariWeb and UrduPoint report far more traffic, but that is whole-portal traffic, not directory traffic.

Which directory is best for finding a plumber or electrician? A trades-first directory such as CityKaam or Nokta.pk, or a general directory filtered by city and area — then check the phone number, service area and reviews before you call.

Is using a directory free? Browsing and searching are free for visitors on every directory on this page. Listing a business is a different question: on PakListings it costs a one-time fee from PKR 99, and other directories set their own terms.

Do directories help local SEO? Yes — accurate listings with identical name, address and phone details reinforce local search visibility. One accurate listing helps; the same business listed ten different ways hurts.

How do I know a listing is real? Check the business name, a working phone or website, a real address or service area, opening hours, and reviews from real customers — and verify regulated professionals with the responsible authority.
