Student Biryani
Student Biryani began in 1969 when Haji Muhammad Ali started selling home-cooked biryani from a small eatery called Café Student in Saddar, Karachi, near the area's schools and colleges. The affordable, spicy biryani made it a favourite with students, and the brand has since grown into branches across Pakistan and abroad, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Canada and the USA. Its menu still centres on chicken and mutton biryani, alongside qorma, karahi and fried fish. The original Saddar branch on Katrak Road remains the one most visitors seek out.
