Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre opened in Johar Town, Lahore, on 29 December 1994 as Pakistan's first comprehensive cancer hospital. It was founded by Imran Khan in memory of his mother, Shaukat Khanum, who died of cancer, and is run by the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust as a charitable hospital — around three quarters of its patients receive financially supported treatment. The centre provides cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and research, and a second hospital opened in Peshawar in 2015. Appointments and referrals are handled through the hospital's own booking channels.
