Holy Family Hospital is one of Rawalpindi's oldest and largest public hospitals, opened in 1927 by Christian missionaries near Liaquat Bagh on Murree Road and moved to its present Satellite Town building in 1946. It was handed to the Government of Punjab in 1977 and is now the principal teaching hospital of Rawalpindi Medical University, with around 1,050 beds and departments covering medicine, surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, eye and ENT care. It runs a busy 24-hour emergency department. Expect long waits in outpatients and emergency, and bring the patient's previous records and test reports to the appointment.
